Creating a 3D Mock-up

What is a 3D Mock-up, and why do we use them?

During the design process we create a 3D image to better represent what your finished product will look like. we can create a few different images to give you a range of possibilities on your artwork.

The process for creating a mock-up begins in Adobe Illustrator where we separate the vector file into multiple layers. Each layer will be reformatted into a .dwg file and extruded into SolidWorks in order to give it the three dimensional shape as well as the desired thickness of each piece. The layers are then placed together and set at the desired distances from each other in order to bring life to the artwork.

At times a mock-up may change in a significant way as to give a wider range of artistic representation and capabilities.
